Name: Mint

Age: 22

I mostly post about: Daily life and hobby updates

My hobbies are: I enjoy Vocaloid music, Vtubers, Anime/manga, literature, birdwatching, knitting and crochet, playing rhythm games. I'm also a programmer and may bring up tech stuff occasionally. I'm learning to draw.

My fandoms are: Current hyperfixation is NBA (go Nuggets). I keep up with F1 casually. I follow paleontology and aviation news. Currently reading JJBA, Chainsaw Man, slowly watching Dark Winds. Check my About Me sticky for the full list of stuff.

I'm looking to meet people who: Are also writing personal journals and forming community. Besides that, people who write or read more structured content. Such as personal journal, hobby updates, recipes, guides, media reviews, short stories. Bonus if you're posting outside of America (I'm from Southeast Asia myself).

My posting schedule tends to be: Few times a week.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: Obviously don't be bigoted, though I assume most people on this site aren't. Probably won't come up often, but I'm not a big fan of people who post inflammatory or reactionary takes.

Before adding me, you should know: I will probably be posting about experiences with mental/physical health stuff, as I am AuDHD and am working through cPTSD. It won't be my main topic, but just a heads up that some of my posts will be heavy, and they'll have a content warning if they are.

Name: Harper

Age: I was on LJ in the early 2000s if that tells you anything

I mostly post about: IRL things currently, but I might post thoughts about media I consume or happenings in the world occasionally. I don't really post fannish things often even though there are fandoms I enjoy. Most of my journal is currently public.

My hobbies are: reading, tinkering, learning languages (Spanish primarily), video games, listening to podcasts and being in nature when the weather and my body allow for it.

My fandoms are: Star Trek (TNG, DS9, VOY primarily), Baldur's Gate 3, Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Orville, The Sims and similar games (I am so excited for Paralives y'all).

I'm looking to meet people who: Post about their lives and passions. I enjoy hearing about hobbies and interests, even if they aren't my own.

My posting schedule tends to be: I strive for at least weekly, sometimes more sometimes less.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: Racism, sexism, transphobia, queerphobia, fundamentalism or anything supporting the fascists.

Before adding me, you should know: I'm neurodivergent and mostly anti-AI. LLM technology has its place, but in its current form I feel it has been actively harmful for humanity and is being used as a giant grift by tech oligarchs. It is most definitely not a replacement for human created art and knowledge.

I have had a long-standing fascination with ancient Egypt, and this morning I learned that Thoth had a female counterpart - Seshat. This is a lengthy piece about them but an interesting one. Seshat is known as the Mistress of the House of Life, which was what they called the small libraries attached to temple complexes. These were a sort of shared working space where scribes could research, write, etc. She was also known as Foremost in the Library. Another interesting note is that while there are depictions of women holding scribe's tools, indicating that they could write, Seshat is the only woman depicted in the act of writing.

There's a cold front coming through again, which I welcome, because I am not enjoying 90 degree days. Let me have a little more cold weather before summer starts beating me up. We've opened the windows back up and the change is wonderful. I slept very badly last night and I'm trying to not just fall asleep right now on the couch. I'm having a cup of coffee, then I'll try doing some yoga.

I have plants to set out in the garden, though it's going to be chilly enough for a couple of nights that we might throw a frost blanket over the beds just to keep them from getting too cold shocked. The key lime tree that I had declared dead ... is putting out leaves. It'll need a pretty radical pruning but it's alive. So all four trees made it through the freezes, and the yuzu took no damage at all.

I need to catch up my notecards for St. Felix, but I'm finally seeing how the particular story arc I started will play out. No need to push the plot right now, I feel like writing some more world-building pieces and introducing characters. Yes, Jonesy will be back. :D I kind of want to do something where I can mention some of the schools there - Atalanta Springs High, where they have a superb girls' cross-country team, and the St. Felix High Wampus Cats. Go cats! And since I mentioned putting Handsome George on the county seal I should probably work on drawing one up.

I've been so lazy today I haven't even practiced the ukulele or anything. I did manage to bake some bread but man, I am dragging.

G'day

Name: Oneinist, or One (they/them)

Age: Middle aged

I mostly post about: So far I've posted general journals, a bit of poetry, and some prompts from the [community profile] snowflake_challenge. I've posted in English and Japanese. I'm still figuring out what I want to post about. I have a Naruto/KKIR fandom Tumblr, but I haven't decided to what extent I'll be posting fannish content here yet. I feel like I might post thoughts on fandom? Or at least I would like to. I'll find an excuse to turn anything into a bingo board.

My hobbies are: I have too many hobbies, and I tend to cycle through them, but I also have some core ones like watching anime, reading Japanese BL manga and listening to BLCDs, cooking, baking, writing, journaling, drawing and crafting. My latest hyper-fixation is Obsidian (note organizing software), and along with it HTML and CSS. The intensity of it varies and sometimes I take breaks or have slumps from my main ones too.

My fandoms are: I'm only active in the Naruto/Boruto fandom, but I still enjoy a variety of fandoms/media. As an example, love Star Trek Voyager and Natsume Book of Friends too; I just haven't created anything for either. I grew up on 90s Sailor Moon anime, so that one holds a special place in my heart.

I'm looking to meet people who: Post about a mix of things that we both have in common and don't have in common, it doesn't have to be fandom related, and it's not a requirement to share fandoms. I enjoy reading about everyday life around the world, hobbies, thoughts and feelings. I'm hoping to build relationships slowly and steadily.

My posting schedule tends to be: I've sort of gotten into the habit of doing the [community profile] justcreate check-in on Mondays, and at the same time I catch up on reading and commenting. I also post then if I'm feeling inspired. That being said, I don't want to stress myself out by trying to explicitly keep some sort of schedule.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: If you write mainly about Christianity from a practicing Christian perspective we are likely not a good match. I'm fine with more cultural or secularized aspects of Christianity like Christmas for example (I decorate extensively myself).

Before adding me, you should know: English is not my first language, and sometimes I misunderstand. I'm sure we can work it out though. I can also be a bit bad at asking questions (I process a lot through association, so my mind slips into "that reminds me of the time I..." as a way of connecting when I've read something). In all languages I write in, I struggle with missing letters and spelling. Because of that, I'm quite self-conscious about my writing, and I can only ask for a bit of patience and grace. My energy levels vary throughout the day as well as the year, and if I go from very chatty to not that chatty, it's me and not you.

"What did you say?"
"DOG," Jonesy declared. To the cat, every animal larger than him was a dog, so it could be anything. Albert groaned and sat up, rubbing his eyes. Unless he went to check on this thing, Jonesy wouldn't leave him alone. He tottered to the window and pulled the blackout curtains open enough to see.
"DOG," Jonesy said again.
It wasn't a dog any more than Muffin was a dog, but this creature was much larger. The head region seemed to be a glowing void similar to Muffin's, but no corolla of tentacles surrounded it. Albert's sleepy brain wondered if they were there to protect the void somehow.
The "dog" turned, apparently having stopped to examine something, and lumbered down the road in the direction of the lake.
